CHICAGO (WLS) — At least 12 people have been shot, two of them fatally, in gun violence in Chicago so far this weekend, police said.

This is how the news develops.

68-year-old man killed in South Side shooting, CPD says

A 68-year-old man was shot dead early Saturday morning in the city’s Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said. It happened around 3:25 am in the 8400 block of South May Street.

A witness told police she was inside her home when she heard gunshots coming from outside. She said she went outside and found the man on the ground unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

The Chicago Fire Department treated the victim at the scene and transported him to Advocate Christ Hospital, where he died.

There is no one arrested. Area Two detectives are investigating.
