MASON COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — A Hudsonville man died after crashing his pickup truck into a tree in Mason County.

Crews were alerted to the accident after receiving a notification from OnStar.

Friday on Fountain Road east of Larson Road in Sheridan Township.

According to investigators, the vehicle was traveling east on Fountain Road and failed to negotiate a curve east of Larson Road. The vehicle left the road, crossed a ditch and struck a tree.

The 87-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
