Ole Miss fans bring goals to The Square after loss to Georgia

Ole Miss fans were celebrating after the 28-10 win over Georgia on Saturday.

The No. 16 Rebels hosted the No. 3 team in the country with a chance to give their College Football Playoff hopes a big boost, knowing that a loss would potentially put them out of the picture.

Thanks to a solid defensive effort, the Rebels held serve at Oxford, dominated the game and sent the Bulldogs back to Athens with their second loss of the season.

Rebels fans celebrated by storming the field and removing the goalposts from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. And those poles ended up in The Square, as you can see below, courtesy of ESPN’s Molly McGrath:

Ole Miss will move up in Tuesday’s playoff standings. After Saturday, they will travel to Florida before finishing the season with the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State.

They’re probably out of the SEC Championship Game, but an at-large playoff bid is still in the cards if they’re able to win through the rest of the regular season.
