Missing 72-year-old Frankenmuth man found dead

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (WNEM) – A missing 72-year-old Frankenmuth man was found dead on November 9 around 12:00 pm by the Frankenmuth Police Department and Tuscola County officials.

On Saturday afternoon, the Frankenmuth Police Department announced on their facebook page that the missing man, Michael Dale Savard, was found near Cass River, south of East Tuscola Rd. A vehicle matching the description of Savard’s was found. Savard was found a short distance from the vehicle and pronounced dead.

The Frankenmuth Police Department stated that the vehicle had traveled through a field on Tuscola Road and the impact occurred on the Tuscola County side. Tuscola County officials responded to the scene and began an investigation.

Savard was reported missing by his family at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 7. Frankenmuth Police announced an active search for him on Friday, November 8.

Savard was last seen in the 3000 block of Towerline Road heading to an address in Bridgeport Township.

Savard was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored shirt, and was driving a white 2023 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a tonneau cover and Michigan license plate number DMS 7238. At the time, police said he had a medical condition that required regular medical care. medical attention.

The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department is the lead agency in the investigation, with assistance from the Frankenmuth Police Department as necessary.
