ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – One man is dead and another was arrested after a shooting Saturday in Roanoke, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

Police say officers responded to reports from a local hospital at 2:54 a.m. of a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to police, the man was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle and the shooting took place in the 800 block of Hunt Avenue NW.

The victim, identified as Brian Keith Stone Jr., 23, died from his injuries, police say.

Police say 28-year-old Dominique Devon Campbell was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Police have not released any information about the shooter.
