Vigil held for 15-year-old boy who died in house explosion in southern Jordan

Friends, family and classmates gathered at Bingham High School Friday night to honor Logan Hansen, the 15-year-old boy who died in a deadly explosion at his home in early November.

The vigil was a heartfelt show of love and support for the Hansen family as they deal with the loss.

Among those in attendance were Logan’s parents, siblings and friends, who spoke of their deep love for the young teenager. His brother shared how excited he was when he found out he would have another sibling.

PREVIOUS REPORT on LOGAN HANSEN:

“When I found out I was going to have another brother, I was excited because I always wanted to be a big brother,” he said.

Logan’s parents also expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support.

“I appreciate everyone spreading the love right now,” Logan’s mother said through tears.

Logan’s classmates, many of them dressed in blue, his favorite color, also came out in large numbers to show their respect.

Alex Novoa, Logan’s classmate, reflected on his character.

“Everyone loved him, he was a sweet kid, he did everything for everyone, even if no one did anything for him,” Alex said.

Logan’s family talked about how much he meant to them.

“I don’t know what I would do if my family was in that house, I don’t know why it had to be him, but he really is a hero,” Logan’s brother said.

He vowed to continue supporting his family during this unimaginable loss.

“And as a brother, I will make sure everyone is taken care of,” he said.

TO A GoFundMe page has been created to help the Hansen family during this difficult time.
