Yakima County Emergency Services announced that it has been chosen by the Gesa Community Foundation as a recipient of the Gesa Credit Union Local Heroes Grant Award, receiving $21,893.00 in funding. With the prize money, Yakima County Emergency Services plans to purchase 5 Resusci Anne QCPR AED AW Torso Rechargeable Mannequins and 2 Little Junior QCPR 4-Pack Mannequins for training and continuing education of EMTs and Paramedics in the county from Yakima.

“Gesa is deeply honored to support the local heroes who make such a lasting impact on our community each year,” said Brandon Allison, Associate Vice President of Training, Education and Community Relations at Gesa Credit Union. “The incredible work that Yakima County Emergency Medical Services does not only helps build a stronger community, it also serves as an inspiration to all of us. Gesa is proud to stand alongside these incredible people and remain committed to investing in the communities we call home.”

The Gesa Local Heroes Grant Program provides funding to organizations that help local heroes across Washington, including firefighters, healthcare workers, law enforcement, teachers and veterans. This year, 44 organizations were awarded through the program. Since 2021, the Gesa Local Heroes Grant Program has provided more than $1,000,000 to more than 100 organizations across the state.
