Man accused of leading police on chase in Madisonville

MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Madisonville Police Department said a man was charged after leading officers on a chase Friday.

Friday, MPD said officers saw a Ford Mustang speeding and weaving through traffic on Highway 411 north near Ballplay Road.

The driver, later identified as Jimmy Dale Presley, Jr., turned onto Ballplay Road, where officers saw him improperly passing vehicles and failing to maintain his lane, according to MPD.

When officers attempted to stop Presley, MPD said he did not stop and led them on a chase.

The chase later ended on Nilesferry Road, near Stinnett Road, and Presley was found a short time later at a home on Patterson Street.

Presley was arrested and charged with felony evading arrest, reckless driving, driving with a revoked license (ninth offense), resisting arrest, improper passing, and driving on a highway with traffic lanes.
