Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire on his friendship with Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire recently opened up about his ongoing battle with post-traumatic stress disorder. During his appearance in the ‘The pivot‘, he addressed his progress and revealed a teammate who helped him overcome problems.

“Travis (Kelce) is very sincere, he’s probably not the most religious person, but he’s going to speak what he feels at that moment. The amount of time I spent with Travis, brother, was unreal. “I really see him as an older brother and I needed someone to lean on.” Edwards-Helaire said. “My first year in the league was the year of COVID, which literally kept us isolated from each other. But the only person who would do those things, reach out and make sure I was okay, and text me on random days was Travis, like, bro, are you okay? As if he were the only one. “He’ll notice when I’m a little excited in the morning in meetings and all that other stuff, really, aware of his surroundings.”

Over the years, Travis Kelce has been praised by many teammates for his generous nature behind the scenes. Edwards-Helaire revealed her continued effort to help him progress.

“I felt comfortable with him. I could talk to him,” Edwards-Helaire said. “He’ll tell me anything, not necessarily changing my mind one way or another, but he was someone I could vent to, and there was nothing better than that, bro, we wouldn’t necessarily have up to the details of everything, he knew the history. Everyone knew that’s exactly what it is. But the way Travis and I talked was more sincere than anything else.”

Edwards-Helaire has been involved in two Super Bowl championships with the Chiefs and says he views Kelce as the team’s best friend.

“I’ve been with the Chiefs five years and they’ve probably been my best friend since I walked in the door; He called me GBC, ‘Good Brother Clyde’. He had nicknames and everything, and that was another thing, like brother, of all things, that’s his nickname for me, Clyde, make sure everyone’s okay. The situation doesn’t matter. Don’t worry about that. Call ‘Good Brother Clyde’ and he will answer you well. Edwards-Helaire said. “That struck me, not only because I knew and saw that Clyde would make sure everyone was good, but also because of his aspect of being a team leader and being that guy that everyone looks up to; It was different when he was taking care of me. “I think that’s what made our friendship and brotherhood unbreakable.”

This is a positive peak behind the scenes of the Chiefs’ relationship dynamic, as they have become deeper than just teammates. Their strong bond has led them to have a lot of success on the soccer field in recent years.
