Saudi push for Salah

talkSPORT’s Saudi correspondent Ben Jacobs has indicated that Al Hilal will make a big push to sign Mohammed Salah.

Salah, whose contract with Liverpool ends this summer, has been a top target for Saudi clubs in recent months.

And this new update will worry some Reds fans…

Jacobs revealed about White and Jordan this afternoon: “2025 is the goal. Al Hilal is the club.

“The Saudi football federation will approach FIFA in this so-called exceptional window before the Club World Cup.

“So, in theory, they could try to sign Salah between June 1 and 10, which means they are looking at him not only for the Saudi Pro League but also for the Club World Cup.

“Therefore, all indications are that the Saudis will return and if Salah is a free agent, then naturally he will be able to command a higher signing fee.

“Liverpool want him to renew, the Saudis are putting a lot of pressure on him. Michael Emenalo, who has a good relationship with Mo Salah, is leading the push.

“So the only thing that has really changed is the club from Al Ittihad to Al Hilal and the expectation is that Saudi Arabia will make a big push.”

Jacobs then added: “Another expectation is that television rights will shift to specific countries in certain territories.

“One of those territories is Egypt, so if Salah joins, it will also be a return on investment because Egypt will have specific rights as a country.

“And with Salah there, one would hope that the Saudi Pro League could achieve a relatively lucrative deal.

“So Salah to Saudi Arabia remains in play and Al Hilal is the most likely destination with the Club World Cup in mind.”
