ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office says a missing Cordova woman was found dead Friday.

The sheriff’s office says Valerie Goff, 66, was reported missing Thursday afternoon after leaving her home on Pontiac Lane to go to the Walgreens on John C. Calhoun Drive around 3 p.m.

She was last seen in her vehicle, a green Nissan Cube.

On Friday afternoon, Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that Goff’s vehicle was discovered in flood waters near Glover and Andrew Dibble streets.

“We ask for prayers for this family,” the sheriff said. “If you know them, please give them your comfort and support.”
