Woman seriously injured in car and pedestrian accident on Peach Street in Millcreek

A 63-year-old Millcreek Township woman was seriously injured Thursday night when she was hit by a car while crossing Peach Street in the township.

The accident was reported Thursday around 6:15 pm in the 5500 block of Peach Street.

According to Millcreek police, the woman, whose name was not released, was walking on Peach Street when she was struck by a Ford Taurus traveling south on Peach Street. The woman was taken by Millcreek Paramedic Service to UPMC Hamot, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit with serious injuries, police reported.

The driver of the Ford Taurus stopped after the accident and remained at the scene, police reported.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video and witness statements as part of the ongoing investigation into the crash. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to call Cpl. Michael Sorokes at 814-833-7777.
