    Pembroke man dies after his motorcycle collides with a pickup truck in Norwell, authorities say

    A Pembroke man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck in Norwell Thursday afternoon, according to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz’s office.

    Jacob Foss, 28, was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle when he crashed into a Toyota Tacoma in the area of ​​111 Pond St., Cruz’s office said in a statement. Foss was taken to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.

    First responders arrived at the scene at 1:30 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a crash between a truck and a motorcycle, authorities said.

    The operator of the van, whose identity was not released, was also taken to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

    Pond Street was closed to one lane of traffic for several hours while the investigation took place, authorities said.

    A preliminary investigation found that the pickup truck, which was traveling east on Pond Street, was struck on the passenger side by the motorcycle, operated by Foss, as it attempted to turn left toward a business, the release said.

    The accident remains under investigation.
