WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a man was arrested in connection with a property crimes investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to an address on West-Oak Highway near Miller Farm Road on Wednesday, Nov. 8, regarding reports of a robbery. During the investigation, they discovered a zero-turn lawnmower, about 20 fishing rods, a washer and a dryer stolen from the home’s garage.

The investigation was turned over to a property crimes investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau.

During the investigation it was determined that John Justin Ward, 45, had committed the crime during the night.

Ward was arrested and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6:14 p.m. on charges of first-degree robbery and grand larceny.
