King Charles ‘humiliated’ as Prince Andrew wins Royal Lodges war

Friends of Prince Andrew They were jubilant on Friday night after the disgraced duke won the so-called ‘Siege of the Royal Lodge’, successfully challenging his brother. King Charles long-standing efforts to expel him from the extravagant 90-acre property.

In a bitter humiliation for the king, who has spent much of the past year plotting to remove Andrew from the ten-bedroom mansion (which he was rumored to be considering as a possible dowager home for his wife Camilla), the palace has dumped La towel and accepted that Andrew can stay there after all.

Charles’s latest move was to cut his brother’s annual allowance of £1 million (approximately $1.3 million) and his private security team. But to no avail: the king has now accepted that he has lost in what many will see as a devastating blow to his authority as he wrestles with the familiar challenge of an ailing monarch; maintaining discipline and obedience.

The capitulation was first reported in the London newspaper. Timeswhich said Andrew would remain in the property having assured the royal accountants that he could afford to maintain the house and pay the rent. The keeper of the private wallet is said to have accepted that Andrew’s money “comes from legitimate sources.”

The royal biographer Andrew Lownie had previously said The Daily Beast that Andrew has “a lot of money” and has been making money from contacts in the Middle East since leaving the official royal family. his wife, Sara Fergusonwho also lives at the Lodge, is the co-author of a series of highly successful romance novels. The couple recently purchased a $6 million property in London’s Mayfair, from which it is believed they will receive significant rental income.

“We are excited for Andrew. “Andrew has a cast-iron lease on the property, so God knows why Charles decided to pick this battle,” a friend of the prince told The Daily Beast. “It’s hard to imagine anyone would have any interest in knowing where Andrew lives if Charles’s aides hadn’t spent the last year harping on about it. He was never going to just walk away from the property; the lease is a valuable asset he intends to leave to his children, and perhaps William will be glad to have Eugenie or Beatrice there for years to come.

Another friend told The Daily Beast: “Charles has it all. He is as rich as Croesus. Andrew is 64 years old and his house is basically all he has left and it was evil of the king to try to take it away from him. Because? “Who cares?”

This friend speculated that the recent publication of details of the king’s phenomenal wealth in the Sunday schedule had been a factor in Charles “abandoning the pretense that the monarchy is run by a shoelace.”

A source told Times, Meanwhile: “If Andrew can pay for his own support through legitimate means, then there is no problem. But the king has run out of patience when it comes to financing his brother’s lifestyle in a way that does not suit his status.”
