Montgomery man pleads guilty to federal robbery, firearms charges

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (WSFA) – A Montgomery man pleaded guilty to federal robbery and firearms charges on Friday, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

According to his plea agreement, Jalen Lamarcus Gunn, 21, committed two armed robberies in Montgomery last April. The first was on April 27, when he robbed a convenience store on Wares Ferry Road at gunpoint and took about $3,000. The second was two days later, on April 29, when he robbed a convenience store on Perry Hill Road at gunpoint and took about $2,500 and cigarettes.

Gunn pleaded guilty to two counts of interference with interstate commerce by robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a federal crime of violence.

A sentencing hearing will be scheduled. Gunn faces seven years in prison and life in prison.
