COLDWATER, Mich. – A woman was arrested after deputies say several people tried to smuggle contraband into a Branch County jail.

Michigan State Police (MSP) say the incident occurred at the Lakeland Correctional Center in Coldwater. The material did not reach the hands of the inmates.

We’re told similar incidents occurred in early 2024.

According to MSP, a 24-year-old woman from Grand Rapids was arrested Friday on charges related to the incident.
