Buccaneers make donation to family of Baker Mayfield fan who died in crash

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization is supporting a family affected by the tragedy ahead of their Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fan Connor Barba, 18, was in a car with his mother Megan Barnett when the car was hit on the way to Tampa Bay’s game against Kansas City. Barba, from Norman, Oklahoma, was a Baker Mayfield fan and his mother had surprised him with tickets to the game. as reported by Jenna Laine of ESPN. Barba was killed in the accident and Barnett was seriously injured.

In response, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers donated $10,000 to the family. Baker Mayfield also issued a statement about the incident, according to Laine’s report.

“My thoughts and prayers are with Megan and her family as they deal with this heartbreaking loss. I am humbled and humbled to know that Connor was a huge fan. I would have loved to meet him. As a new father, this truly makes me realize there are no words.” “That they can provide real comfort at a time like this, but I hope Megan makes a full recovery and draws strength from the great support she is receiving from across the country.”

Megan Barnett, Barba’s mother, is currently in the ICU of a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to a GoFundMe set up by the family, Barnett suffered “many injuries that will require extensive recovery.”
