The brother went into a bedroom, while Rodriguez followed him, cutting his arm and face, according to the report.

When police and firefighters arrived at the home, the brother was covering his stab wounds with clothing, according to authorities. He was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Rodriguez fled the home and was found hiding in a nearby tree after police set up a perimeter. He was then taken into custody.

When detectives interviewed Rodriguez, he told them he got irritated when his brother was “talking about food.” He added that he thought his brother was going for the knife because of the “attitude” he had.

According to Miami-Dade jail records, Rodriguez was booked into jail Thursday morning charged with attempted felony murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
