The argument escalates, a gun is found, a woman with a knife and more

The discussion intensifies

Two men argued around 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of South Wyoming Street.

During the argument, Justin L. Smutz, 42, of Butte allegedly threw a metal bar at the other man. He was arrested for assault with a weapon.

Pisland found

Officers assisted Adult Probation and Parole in the arrest of Jacob R. Compton, 41, of Butte, shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

During a search of Compton’s residence at Napton Apts., 25 E. Granite St., a handgun was found, along with a small bag of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

He was jailed for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted person, criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had a warrant for his arrest for criminal contempt out of city court.

Two women got into a physical altercation Wednesday afternoon at Leggat Apts., 50 W. Broadway St. When police arrived, only one woman was at the scene. She told police that Denise E. Gardipee, 48, of Butte, had a knife when he attacked her, but she was not injured.

Gardipee was located at the Party Palace and the knife was found in a bush. She was jailed for assault with a weapon, criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

He pointed a gun

On Tuesday, Timmothy G. Flores, 48, of Butte allegedly got into an argument with two women at a residence in the 2700 block of South Montana Street. To keep the women in the house, he reportedly pointed a firearm at one of the women.

Police arrived around 8:45 p.m. and arrested Flores for unlawful restraint and two counts of assault with a weapon on a partner or family member.

Recidivism

Tuesday, Terry J. Fussell Jr., 59, of Butte, was booked into jail on warrants for aggravated assault and strangulation of a partner or family member (second offense).

A closed fist is used.

Shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday, police arrived at a residence in the 2900 block of Dexter Street and detained William S. Gray Jr., 31, of Butte.

Gray allegedly argued with a man and punched him in the arm with a closed fist three times. He was imprisoned for assault on his partner or family member (second offense).

Two arrested

A Montana Highway Patrol trooper stopped two people from Butte, Nathan A. Salois, 40, and Amanda R. Otten, 32, at 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Salois was jailed for criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

Otten was jailed for criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, along with outside warrants.

At 7 a.m. Monday, a call came in about a shirtless man walking through yards in the 2700 block of South Dakota Street and also approaching moving vehicles. He is also alleged to have attempted to open a truck door and entered a garage.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested Daniel A. Caruso, 29, of Butte, for criminal trespass to a vehicle and two counts of criminal trespass to property. Caruso also had three outstanding arrest warrants.

theft of property

Joshua J. Currier, 45, of Butte, was arrested at 7:24 p.m. Thursday by an MHP trooper on a warrant for theft of property exceeding $1,500.

Thursday accident

At 3:30 p.m. Thursday, officers arrived at the scene of an accident in Uptown Butte, where a car had just crashed into a pole. Standing outside the car was Stephen K. McRill, 23, of Butte, who initially told police it was his stolen car, but officers quickly learned that a woman was driving the car and he was the passenger.

McRill had warrants for his arrest and was also jailed for obstructing a peace officer.

vandalized truck

Sometime Monday morning, the windshield of a truck broke while it was parked in the 900 block of South Utah Avenue.

Stolen vehicle

A multi-colored 1979 Ford pickup truck was reported stolen Monday morning while parked in the 1800 block of Elizabeth Warren Avenue.

criminal mischief

It was reported Wednesday afternoon that someone spray-painted the mural in the alley behind 5518 Designs, 27 N. Main St.
