City of Buckhannon fills empty council seat

BUCKHANNON, W.Va (WDTV) – Buckhannon has officially selected its new city council member.

Scott Randall was sworn in at the city council meeting Thursday night.

Randall, who was born and raised in Buckhannon, has served on the City of Buckhannon Waste Board, the Upshur County Solid Waste Authority Board and the City of Buckhannon Revenue Review Committee. He ran in the most recent city council election and was just a few votes away from claiming one of the three seats that were open.

He will serve on the city council until June 30, 2026.

Randall filled the seat previously held by David McCauley, who resigned on October 8 of this year after being charged with multiple counts of possession and production of child pornography.

As of Nov. 8, McCauley is still being held at the Northern Regional Jail without bond.
