What makes berry flavored vapes more dangerous than other varieties?

In the last 5 years, more than cigarettes, vaporizers have been in fashion and many people have started using them for various reasons. Vapes in general could be harmful to the lungs, but recent research suggests that berry-flavored vapes are even more dangerous to your health and can compromise the lungs’ natural defenses.

In general, vaporizers affect the body and weaken it to fight infections. A new study has compared the effects of flavored electronic cigarettes to those of the tasteless. Adding flavor to vaping solution has been shown to pose a danger to the human body.

Berry flavor, compared to other fruity vapes, may contain more chemicals such as benzaldehyde, which is used to create the aroma, and these compounds are potentially harmful to lung tissues when inhaled for long periods. Vaporizers also contain ethylmartol, a sweetener that makes its tempting flavor addictive to young people. This can lead to using the vape for longer and getting you addicted to nocotine, causing a greater health risk.
A study published in PNAS revealed that a specific chemical in berry vaporizers paralyzes immune cells in the lungs, which are responsible for eliminating harmful particles. The study also noted that the flavored ones did not have that effect.

The study was inspired by a series of cases of lung injury in adolescents reported in 2019. McGill assistant professor Ajitha Thanabalasuriar, along with Erika Penz of the University of Saskatchewan, exposed mice to e-cigarette vapor for several days and used a Live imaging technique to observe your lung immune cells in real time.
