How Sonoma, Napa and Bay Area counties voted in the 2024 presidential election: AP VoteCast

California voters generally supported Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s presidential election, but not all of the state’s 58 counties agreed.

California voters generally supported Vice President Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s presidential election, but not all of the state’s 58 counties agreed.

Figures released by The Associated Press on Friday morning showed that with 58% of votes counted, 57% of California voters chose Harris, while 40% chose Donald Trump. Trump did not win California’s electoral votes, but his overall performance of 40% dwarfs his previous two elections. four years ago, obtained 34% of the votes against Joe Biden, and got less than 32% against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

In AP’s county-by-county count, the Democratic candidate had the highest percentage of victories in the Bay Area and the metropolitan areas of Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Diego. Meanwhile, counties in the Central Valley and rural northeast voted largely for the former president.

This is how the nine Bay Area counties voted: according to AP VoteCast, a survey of the electorate that also takes into account “Expected votes” totals in all 50 states. The percentage of “votes counted” is based on AP methodology, as election officials are still determining the number of people who actually voted in each county.

Sonoma County Voters, with 52% of votes counted as of Friday morning, strongly supported Harris with 72% of the vote, to Trump’s 25%.

In napa county, who had counted 32% of the votes, Harris obtained 64%, compared to Trump’s 33%.

Marin County Voters, with 45% of the votes counted, overwhelmingly chose Harris over Trump by a margin of 79% to 18%.

In Alameda Countywhere 28% of the votes had been counted, 71% of voters chose Harris, compared to 24% of Trump voters.

In Contra Costa CountyHarris won 67% of the vote to Trump’s 30%, with 57% of potential votes counted.

City and county of San Francisco Voters, with 56% of votes counted as of Friday morning, also strongly supported the vice president, choosing her over Trump by a margin of 80% to 16%.

In san mateo county, where 54% of the votes had been counted, voters voted for Harris with 72% of the votes, compared to 25% for Trump.

In Santa Clara County, Harris led Trump by a margin of 67% to 29%, with 57% of the votes counted.

In Solano County, where 80% of the votes had been counted, Harris led Trump by a margin of 60% to 37%.

San Francisco and Marin counties were the two California counties where Harris received the highest percentage of votes, with 80% and 79% respectively.

The counties most supportive of Trump statewide were Lassen County, where the president-elect received 74% of the votes counted, and Modoc County, where he received 71% of the votes counted.
