Rams’ Stafford badmouths former All-Pro teammate

The Los Angeles Rams (4-4) will face one of their former Super Bowl champions, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, when they host the Miami Dolphins (2-6) on Monday Night Football.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford spoke to the media on Thursday and mentioned the battle against his former teammate. Ramsey was a part of the organization for four seasons spanning from 2019 to 2022. He will return to Sofi Stadium for the first time since being traded in March of last year.

“Yeah, I mean, I practiced against him for a while and I have a lot of respect for who he is as a player, as a teammate,” Stafford said of his former teammate. “He affects the game in a lot of different ways, like a lot of times guys stay away from him. It’s basically a one-on-one they take him away, so he’s doing a great job like he always does blending in there in the game. rushing, finishing plays, blitzing, sacking the quarterback, gets an interception slant last week.”

Ramsey has 29 tackles, one interception and four pass deflections as he has played in all eight games for the Dolphins this season. His numbers are lower than previous years so far due to the fact that many NFL teams have stayed away from the seven-time Pro Bowler, as Stafford mentioned.

“He’s doing all the little things you want from Jalen Ramsey and I have a lot of respect for him,” Stafford said. “I had an amazing time playing with him as a teammate and that will be a big challenge for us on Monday night.”

StaffordEdit He watched Ramsey compete on the same bench for four seasons and has a good idea of what he’ll bring to the table when he defends the Rams this week. Staying away from him will be a good choice, but don’t be surprised if Stafford attacks him due to the prior knowledge he has.

It will all be smiles before and after the game between the two stars, but when time runs out and the game starts, it will all be business. Stafford has been subdued the last few weeks and it will be a tough task for Ramsey to put together an elite performance with the plethora of options in the passing game.

Ramsey will likely protect his other former teammate, veteran Cooper Kuppand can play some plays against the young star Puka Nacuasomeone Ramsey has not faced in his career.
