Three Texas People Hospitalized in Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-70, One Seriously Injured

One person was seriously injured and two others were injured in a tractor-trailer accident on I-70 Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling eastbound on I-70 near the 102 mile marker.

Records show the truck was driving near a work zone when it changed from the driving lane to the passing lane and went off the left side of the road.

The driver overran while returning to the highway and overturned, veering off the left side where he struck a median cable and came to rest, blocking both lanes of westbound I-70.

The truck’s trailer hitch became disconnected during the incident and came to rest on its side, blocking the eastbound lanes of I-70.

The driver, a 41-year-old woman, was seriously injured in the accident, while a 2-year-old child was moderately injured and another 43-year-old adult man suffered only minor injuries. The three occupants of the vehicle were noted to be from Little Elm, Texas.

All occupants inside the truck were transported to University Hospital by Cooper County EMS.

MSHP noted that no one in the vehicle was wearing seat belts when the accident occurred.
