Wolves News: Opinion: Southampton game ‘a battle Gary O’Neil needs to win’

While the wolves prepare to receive SouthamptonThe weight of expectation is heavy. After 10 games, being last in the table and conceding 27 goals is not where Wolves fans expected to be.

Gary O’Neil may insist that it’s not a “gotta win” game, but the reality seems completely different. While it is not technically a decisive game in terms of relegation (there are many games left), there is a lot at stake for O’Neil and his team. This is a battle you need to win.

The general consensus among Wolves fans we’ve spoken to is clear: time has run out. Initially, there was a lot of patience due to difficult games, but opinions have changed and many now doubt O’Neil’s ability to get the Wolves out of this situation. Another lackluster performance could lead to a charged atmosphere at Molineux, with fans loudly expressing their discontent.

There is uncertainty over whether Wolves owners Fosun agree with fans on this. Since O’Neil and his team recently received new four-year contracts, they appear reluctant to pay severance. However, as smart business owners, they understand that the financial repercussions of decline far outweigh the costs of a management change. The risk of losing Premier League status is a gamble they are unlikely to take lightly.

Although we have been told that easier games have come and better results are expected, problems remain and even a victory could only postpone the inevitable.

After a quarter of the season and only three points accumulated, it is evident that something has to change. If we analyze the games this season, we have only achieved three points, while the same games last season gave us 12.

We cannot continue to blame our current situation on difficult parties.

Sometimes you have to make a change for the greater good.
