Iran should not allow Israel to involve it in full-scale war: advisor – World

DUBAI, November 8. /TASS/. Iran should respond to Israel’s actions with caution to prevent the Jewish state from dragging the country into a full-scale war, said an adviser to the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader, Ali Larijani.

“Israel has killed many people in Gaza but has achieved none of its objectives. <...> In Lebanon, they (the Israelis) killed many people. But did they manage to alter the course of the war? Now they want to drag Iran into this conflict, as our leadership says, we must not fall into their trap <...> An emotional reaction would be a mistake, the response should be strategic,” Larijani said. TV IRIB. The Iranian politician also emphasized that the decision on responding to the October 26 Israeli attack rests with the Supreme National Security Council, adding that it is not appropriate for everyone to express their opinion on the matter.

The adviser stated that Israel’s main goal in the Gaza conflict was to forcibly relocate the enclave’s entire Palestinian population to neighboring countries. However, when the Arab states recognized this plan, they refused to allow “this plot to become a reality.”

On October 1, Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel in retaliation for the assassination of key officials from Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Israel has committed to respond to this attack.

On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces reported attacking military sites inside Iran in response to “numerous ongoing attacks.” The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force stated that military installations in the provinces of Ilam, Tehran and Khuzestan were attacked, although damage was limited and air defenses successfully intercepted most of the incoming attacks. At least four Iranian soldiers and one civilian were killed in the Israeli attacks.

On November 2, Esmaeil Kousari, a member of the National Security Committee of Iran’s Majlis, stated that Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has decided on a military response to Israel that will be significantly stronger than any previous attack. This response will involve forces from the Resistance Axis, including Hezbollah, Hamas and their allies in Gaza, radical Shiite groups from Iraq’s Islamic Resistance, and Yemen’s Ansar Allah, the Houthi rebel movement.
