Man accused of stealing track loader from business in northeast Nebraska, deputies say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man faces a single charge after stealing a track loader from a northeast Nebraska company, according to court documents.

Adam Brodahl, 36, was arrested after a woman said he refused to pay her for a track loader she sold him last year.

On September 4, authorities learned that the woman had tried to sell Kubota a track loader that she was no longer using. The woman said she was referred to Brodahl as a potential rent-to-own buyer and he sold her the track loader, according to her arrest affidavit.

Brodahl and the woman created a contract that agreed for him to make payments of $972.44 per month from May 2023 to October 2023, according to court documents.

Deputies were made aware that Brodahl was making monthly payments until October, when he did not receive the agreed upon amount from him. When the victim tried to contact him to ask for the monthly payment, he allegedly ignored the phone calls and text messages.

When the victim finally received a response, documents allege that Brodahl demanded that if he wanted the track loader back, he must pay him $8,000, the agent wrote.

According to court documents, the victim stated that she would pay Brodahl if he agreed to meet the charger in a public area, but he did not respond to her. He then reported the charger stolen.

Brodahl was charged with theft or unlawful taking of $5,000 or more, a class 2A felony. He is booked at the Madison County Jail.

His arraignment is not scheduled at this time.
