Fans have trouble with NFL rules after Ravens’ interception overturned

NFL fans weren’t too happy with the referees’ decision to overturn a Brandon Stephens interception late in the first half of Thursday night’s battle between the Bengals and Ravens.

Joe Burrow was looking for a receiver in the end zone, but Stephens baited the Bengals quarterback and then stepped up on the pass for what appeared to be an interception.

There was some doubt about whether he had been able to make the catch in bounds and after the referees reviewed the play It was considered an incomplete pass since it did not go down two feet into the field.

While the replay appeared to confirm that decision, football fans were upset that one foot was able to come down twice and argued that it should have counted for a catch.

“SAME FOOT TWICE = TWO FEET”, Warren Sharp wrote in X.

“Terrible call, another bad call that changes the game completely and they score a TD each. Single. Week. Bad decisions after bad decisions.” another person wrote on social media.

“How many feet do you need? Three? Four? a third person asked.

“For NFL officials to overturn Brandon Stephens’ interception is absolutely crazy. I hate this sport.” Another user X chimed in.

To add insult to injury for the Ravens, the Bengals scored with 30 seconds left in the half when Burrow completed a short three-yard pass to Tanner Hudson to take a 14-7 lead after the extra point.

That’s how the Bengals and Ravens entered the locker room at halftime, and Cincinnati extended its lead to two touchdowns after scoring early in the third quarter before the Ravens attempted a comeback.

The Bengals came into the game looking for their fifth win of the year, while the Ravens looked to move to 7-3 on the season.

Thursday marked the second time this season that the Ravens and Bengals met.
