Man who orchestrated planned robbery and subsequent murder found guilty

A man who reportedly hired three people to dress as police officers and rob a drug house in Isanti County, leading to the murder of José De Jesús Díaz Fernández, 42 years old. In December, he was found guilty.

Fredy Saavedra Olivar was found guilty of two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree robbery, according to the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, which prosecuted the case at the request of the Isanti County Prosecutor’s Office.

Saavedra Olivar gave the men weapons, drugs and the address of the house. He also reportedly coordinated with them by phone moments before the shooting.

Three other people are awaiting trial, Ellison added.
