A teenager who was riding a motorcycle while being chased by police died after an accident.

The 18-year-old was a passenger on the bike when it collided with a car on Harrogate Road in Bradford on October 28.

West Yorkshire Police previously said the motorcycle had failed to stop for officers and a pursuit had been authorized shortly before the crash.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) confirmed that he died in hospital from his injuries on November 6.

“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, as well as everyone affected by this tragic incident,” a spokesperson said.

“IOPC investigators have begun the process of collecting and reviewing evidence as we work to determine the circumstances that led to the incident on October 28.”

The spokesman added that another man who was driving the motorcycle also suffered serious injuries.
