Florida Gators confirm Billy Napier’s return for 2025

In a statement released by the University of Florida Department of Athletics, director of athletics Scott Stricklin announced that Billy Napier will continue as head football coach of the Florida Gators for the 2025 season. This decision comes after careful consideration of the team’s performance and growth during the last few weeks.

Stricklin emphasized the young team’s determination, effort and execution, which have been instrumental in laying the foundation for greater success in the coming seasons. “His determination, effort and execution are evident in his performance and growth each week, building a foundation that promises greater success next season and beyond,” Stricklin said.

UF remains committed to a championship-caliber program, focusing on sustained, long-term success for its athletes, recruits and fans. The administration is confident that Napier will meet future challenges and is prepared to support any changes necessary to elevate the Gators football program.

Stricklin praised Gator Nation for its unwavering support, stating, “This loyalty creates an incredible environment that inspires our players to compete with heart and determination. “Now, I call on all of Gator Nation to continue supporting Billy and his dedicated team as we work together to build a championship program.”

With the backing of the university and strong fan support, Billy Napier hopes to lead the Florida Gators to a promising 2025 season.
