The good streak continues for Alex Foxenwhich marked his first career Triton title this week to bring its totals to nearly $35 million. That’s good for 22nd on the all-time money list.

Foxen took the $50,000 buy-in eight-max no-limit event for $1.47 million. He also won 1,224 card player Player of the Year points, jumping to eighth place. Foxen has finished inside the top 10 for the last six years and is looking to make it a seventh consecutive strong finish through 2024.

The victory comes immediately after his second WSOP bracelet, which he won in the online series in a mystery reward of $500 PLO event. Foxen also came second in the WSOP Europe A high roller with a buy-in of €25,000 and made three final tables in the recent PokerGO Tour PLO series.

“The tournament went very well for me,” Foxen said afterwards. “I was very lucky most of the time. Everything seemed fine. I felt confident and excited.”

The tournament had 147 entries creating a prize pool of $7.35 million thanks to the big buy-in. The top 23 players won a minimum prize of $85,000. Among the notables who made money en route to the final table were several players with eight-figure career earnings, including Juan Pardo (11th), Daniel Dvoress (13th), Webster Lim (14th), Christoph Vogelsang (15th), Danny Tang. (18), Santhosh Suvarna (20), David Yan (22) and Ben Heath (23).

When the action reached the final table, it was Foxen who had the chip lead. Lun Loon quickly fell to eighth place, and then the seven-player action took a while before Quan Zhou fell to the railing. Meanwhile, Foxen continued to wield an unstoppable stack.

Kiat Lee was next in sixth place, and Liang Xu followed in fifth place. Even though he wasn’t scoring the knockouts, Foxen was still on top. The final four players decided to split the final prize money, with an additional $170,000 and the remaining trophy to play for among themselves.

It was then that Foxen became active in eliminating his opponents, eliminating Dominykas Mikolaitis in fourth place and Marius Kudzmanas in third place. Kudzmanas appeared at his second final table of the series just a couple of days after placing sixth in the $30,000 event for $231,000. With the $922,000 he pocketed from this event, he now has $1.5 million in winnings, almost all of which came from this summer.

Back-to-back eliminations gave Foxen a more than 6:1 chip lead against Aleksejs Ponakovs at the start of the final match.

Ponakovs was able to double up once, but the second time he risked all his chips things didn’t go so well. Ponakovs was all in with A-7 preflop and was ahead of Foxen’s KJ, but a king appeared on the turn to close out the tournament.

Foxen collected his first Triton trophy, and Ponakovs got $915,000 after the deal. The Latvian pro increased his solid career earnings to $22.7 million thanks to the score.
