The Construction Industry Council (CIC) recently convened Hong Kong’s leading contractors to celebrate the Outstanding Contractor Award (OCA) at a distinguished ceremony held on November 6 at the Island Shangri-La Hotel.

This triennial event praised the exemplary contributions of contractors in the categories of Main Contractor, Contractor, Specialist Contractor and RMAA (Repair, Maintenance, Alteration and Addition) Contractor, recognizing their commitment to safety, innovation, young professionals, sustainability , professionalism and integrity management.

In his welcome remarks, Ir Prof Thomas Ho On-sing, president of the CIC, set a lively tone for the evening and described the OCA as the “Oscars of the construction industry”.

Reflecting on the resilience and dedication shown by contractors in recent years, Ir Prof Ho praised their ability to execute complex projects under challenging conditions, including rapid response healthcare and housing facilities that addressed the urgent needs of the community.

“Our honorees here tonight represent excellence in safety culture, corporate innovation, professionalization and ESG principles, etc., and we hope that they will continue to set new standards, enhancing the construction industry’s role in the development of Hong Kong,” he said.
