Jason Kelce prepares to go on air as part of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” coverage of the Oct. 7 game between the Saints and Chiefs in Kansas City.

Kelce was in State College, Pennsylvania, on Saturday for ESPN’s “College GameDay” and was interacting with fans when one of them used a homophobic slur in reference to his brother dating Taylor Swift.

Penn State University Police and Public Safety are investigating the incident.

Kelce admitted his actions “crossed the line” when he grabbed the fan’s phone and threw it to the ground. In the video, Kelce could be heard saying, “Who’s the (expletive) now?”

He said repeating the slur was a mistake because it “simply perpetuates more hate.”

On the podcast, Brother Travis took a sympathetic tone.

“You reacted in a way that defended your family and you may have used some words that you regret,” he said. “And that’s a situation that you have to learn from and take ownership of. I think owning it and talking about it shows how sincere you are with a lot of people in this world… You don’t choose hate, that’s just not who “You are. I love you brother, I think you said it perfectly.”
