“Police responded to the area following a disturbance call at the Inn on Wednesday afternoon, where they arrived to find the man armed and barricaded inside,” prosecutors said. “Contact with the barricaded man was ongoing at the time of the incident.”

The name of the man shot by police was not released pending notification of next of kin. The state medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy.

No civilians or police officers suffered physical injuries, prosecutors said. There is no known threat to the public, prosecutors said.

No further information is currently available, including what time the shooting ended.

The identities of the police officers who fired their weapons will be withheld until they are formally interviewed by investigators, Formella’s office said.
