Running backs Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Week 10 fantasy football

Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season It was a big week for fantasy football running backs, as six players scored at least 20 points in standard leagues, led by Saquon Barkley (29.9) and Henry Derrick (25.3).

In Week 10four teams leave with rest: the cleveland browns, Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raidersand Seattle Seahawks. At least three running backs from that group have been consistent starters for Fantasy managers this season.

NFL Trade Deadline Winners and Losers: The cowboys are confused as the contenders flee

NFL Power Rankings Week 10: How has the trade deadline altered the league’s elite?

That means there are some lineup questions many managers face this week at running back. Here are five running backs to start and five to sit in Week 10:

Fantasy football begins with them: RB of week 10

Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants (vs. carolina panthers)

Tracy Jr. has been inconsistent lately. He had a career day against the Steelers, one of the league’s best run defenses, only to fall last week against Washington, one of the worst run defenses.

Hopefully, he can take advantage of the opportunity in Week 10 to get back to the productive side of things. Carolina leads the league in rushing yards allowed (159.3) and gave up just 253 yards to Saints running backs last week. In a battle of bad teams, Tracy Jr. may be the only winner.

D’André Swift, chicago bears (vs. New England Patriots)

Like the rest of Chicago’s offense, Swift struggled against the Cardinals last weekend. He had 82 total yards, his fewest since Week 3. But things could get back to normal at home this week. New England allowed 181 yards per game and seven touchdowns in the last five weeks to opposing running backs. Swift should capitalize to start a three-game homestand.

Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings (vs. jacksonville jaguars)

Jones was selected as the starter last week and had a good game against the Colts with 82 total yards on 25 touches. The Vikings relied more on the passing game in that contest.

This week, Minnesota begins its three-game road trip against a Jaguars defense that has allowed 147 total yards per game and six touchdowns to opposing running backs over the past four weeks. Jones should have an easier time facing one of the worst defenses in the league.

Chuba HubbardCarolina Panthers (vs. New York Giants)

We said last week that Hubbard’s matchup with the Saints could be his last week as a solid Fantasy starter. Well, we’ll extend it one more week with their game against New York. The Giants’ run defense has slowed considerably over the past three weeks with opposing running back groups averaging 204 yards per game. He should be fine this week before next week’s bye and the likely emergence of rookie Jonathan Brooks.

Ray Davis, buffalo bills (in Indianapolis Colts)

If you’re in a pinch, Davis could be a good play this week. The Bills’ No. 2 running back had 90 total yards and a touchdown on just six touches last week. Of course, a 63-yard touchdown reception will increase that, but he could have a nice follow-up performance this week.

The Colts have allowed 146.5 yards per game and two touchdowns to opposing running backs in their last four games. That means plenty of opportunities for him behind standout running back James Cook. He’s a solid FLEX or starter option if you’re reading the waiver wire this week.

Fantasy Football Sit ’em: RB of Week 10

Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos (in Kansas City Chiefs)

Tampa Bay running back Rachaad White’s touchdown on “Monday Night Football” last week was the first score given up by the Chiefs to an opposing running back since late September. Kansas City has yet to give up 100 yards to a running back this season.

Williams had a solid outing against Baltimore last week with 84 total yards on 14 touches, but that will likely be his ceiling again this week on the road against the Chiefs’ run defense.

Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans (in Los Angeles Chargers)

Pollard had 154 total yards on 31 touches, both season highs. But Los Angeles’ defense is much, much better than the Patriots’ run unit. The Chargers held the Browns running backs to 50 total yards on 21 touches last week and should have an equally strong week against the Titans’ personnel in Week 10. If it’s a must-start, don’t expect him to repeat his performance this time. week.

Rico Dowdle, dallas cowboys (vs. Philadelphia Eagles)

Dowdle had one of his best performances of the season in Week 9 with 107 total yards and a touchdown on 17 touches against the Falcons. But the Cowboys are going from being a bottom-third of the league’s run defense in Atlanta last week to a top-five unit this week.

Since their bye in Week 5, Philadelphia has limited opposing running back groups to just 83 total yards per game and allowed one touchdown. This defense is coming together, and with Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott on the injured list, Philadelphia can prepare to stop the run more than before.

Bigsby TankJacksonville Jaguars (vs. Minnesota Vikings)

Bigsby led the team in carries last week even with Travis Etienne Jr. back in the lineup. He had 22 yards on eight carries and will likely have another tough time this week. Minnesota held Jonathan Taylor to just 59 total yards last week and can get linebacker Blake Cashman back from injury this week. That could once again be a problem for Bigsby and the Jaguars’ running game.

Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. San Francisco 49ers)

White scored his fourth touchdown in the last three weeks against the Chiefs on “Monday Night Football,” but managed just 28 total yards on his other five touches. Tampa Bay leaned more on Bucky Irving (10 touches for 34 yards) in what was a tough outing for the running game.

It may be a similar story against a 49ers defense that just came off its bye this week. San Francisco held opposing running back groups to just 97 total yards per game in the three games before the break. They allowed four touchdowns in that span but received none, the same way White has scored three of his four touchdowns this season.
