CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Cedar Rapids Police Department says its Hazardous Devices Unit has determined that items inside a suspicious backpack are not dangerous.

The department says that at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday, Cedar Rapids Joint Communications received a call from Coe College security that the backpack had been found.

Responding units established a perimeter. At 11:55 p.m., it was determined that the items in the backpack were not dangerous and the area was safe.
