Jason Kelce Talks Breaking Heckler’s Phone After Travis-Taylor Mock

Jason Kelce is speaking after a video of him throwing a college football fan’s phone when the fan mocked his brother. Travis Kelce with a homophobic insult went viral on the Internet.

Saturday after appearing on ESPN college game day for the matchup between Ohio State and Penn State, a fan was filmed walking up to Kelce and saying, “Hey, Kelce. How does it feel that your brother isn’t dating Taylor Swift? referring to Kelce’s brother and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who has been dating Swift since last year.

Jason can then be seen grabbing the man’s phone and smashing it into the ground. In other images Shared online, the fan is seen reaching for his phone and apparently told Jason, “Give me my phone, bro,” and shoved him before Kelce told him, “Who the f**k now?”

Penn State University police are reportedly investigating the incident involving Kelce and the unidentified college football fan at the school.

in your new heights podcast which Kelce introduces with Travis, spoke more about the incident. “I am not happy with the situation, by reacting I gave it the time of day and also gave notoriety to the situation. That’s what I regret. “It didn’t deserve attention, it’s really stupid,” he said. Jason went on to point out that if he had kept walking, no one would have seen him and nothing would have happened. “Now it’s out there and it’s just perpetuating more hate.”

He also expressed that what he regretted most was having used the same homophobic insult in response, which he described as “over the top.”

“It’s dehumanizing and it got under my skin, it caused a reaction. In the heat of the moment, I thought, ‘Hey, what can I say back to him? I’m going to throw this shit in his face. Screw it,’” Kelce said.

“What I do regret is that there is now a video that is very hateful, that is now online and that has been viewed by millions of people and I share the blame for perpetuating it and publishing it,” Jason said.

Travis praised his brother for owning up to his mistake and defended him for being “sincere” and someone who doesn’t “choose hate.”

“The real situation is that a fucking clown came up to you and talked to you about your family and you reacted in a way that defended your family, and you may have used some words that you regret. That is a situation that you have to learn from and take ownership of. “I think owning it and talking about it shows how sincere you are to a lot of people in this world,” Travis told Jason.

“You don’t choose hate, that’s just not who you are,” he added. “I love you brother, I think you said it perfectly.
