HGTV’s Jasmine Roth Shares Adorable Video Naming Her Baby After Difficult Premature Birth

HGTV star jasmine roth has given fans a heartwarming update following the dramatic premature birth of their second child, Darla, who was born a month early and weighed 4 pounds, 8 ounces.

Roth previously said People that the birth of Baby Darla, born on september 7It was a “terrifying” experience. She and her husband, Brett, were out to dinner when her contractions started and were stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital, almost giving birth “on the side of the road.”

In a video posted to her Instagram page, the 40-year-old shared the hilarious moment her eldest daughter reacted to her little sister’s name. Four-year-old Hazel can be seen entering the hospital room, excited to meet the new addition. “I want to see my sister! “I call her sister,” Hazel exclaimed. “I want to know his name!” “So we’ll tell you the name and then you can tell the rest of the family once you remember it,” Jasmine assured. “Are you ready? Her name is Darla Rose Roth.”

Hazel looked silently at her mother before repeating the name out loud. Jasmine asked, “What do you think?” Hazel didn’t hold back. “Well, I’ll call her Melody,” he shared, causing the mother of two to burst out laughing.

“Honestly, I like Melody better…” one fan cheekily wrote in the comments.

“I would have made up my own name too if the best thing my parents could have come up with was Darla,” another joked.

“I love the name,” said a third.

In the caption, Jasmine explained how they came up with “Darla” and wrote, “There’s no big story about it. We never tell anyone the name in advance because if we can decide on a name, we don’t want to risk someone ruining it for us. None of us have ever met a ‘Darla’, so it was a good start! Let’s be honest, naming people is HARD!” he added jokingly.

Jasmine has been updating her fans on her bundle of joy’s health since her birth.

On October 28, Jasmine let fans know that her family was back home and everything was progressing normally. “Maternity Leave: Part 1,” Jasmine captioned the photo series. “We brought Darla home from the hospital after 15 days. Hurrah! “Hazel stayed with her grandmothers and uncle and visited us daily, but it was still very difficult to be away.”

Jasmine went on to say that Hazel “is the best big sister” and that “Darla loves her attention.” He also provided a health update and explained why Darla had a feeding tube connected.

“If you’re like me, this was new territory as I’d never had a premature baby before. “It’s basically a tube that goes to the stomach through the nose,” he shared. “The milk (see source in photo 13!) passes through the tube and goes directly to your stomach. Because Darla was born so small, it took her some time to gain enough strength to eat a full meal.”

On October 31, Jasmine was happy to tell her fans on Instagram that Darla no longer needed a feeding tube.
