DOUGLAS COUNTY — Douglas County voters selected their options for a variety of offices on Election Day.

Angie Krebs, an incumbent member of the Alexandria School Board, was re-elected and Tracy Capistrant will also serve on the board.

Alexandria Mayor Bobbie Osterberg was re-elected and Jeff Way won a seat on the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.

Jerry Rapp was also re-elected to the Douglas County Board and Carl Kvale won the Alexandria City Council race in District 5, according to unofficial results.

Minnesota’s two Republican House candidates, Mary Franson and Tom Murphy, both scored victories.

In a close race for a judgeship, incumbent Tim Churchwell edged out challenger Joel Novak of Alexandria.

Minnesota Ballot Question

There is also a state-level ballot question about a Minnesota Constitutional Amendment. Voters were asked to decide whether or not state Lottery revenue will continue to be dedicated to the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund.

Douglas County residents liked the idea, giving it 17,497 “yes” votes while 7,610 “no” votes were cast, including approximately 2,002 blank votes that were considered “no” votes.

Here are other races contested in Douglas County:

Brandon Township Supervisor: Zach Hintermeister defeated. Pablo Ulsager, 368-43; and Dennis Lund defeated. Leroy Buse, 306-195.

Carlos Mayor — Ronna Berghoff defeated. Lyle Yochim, 168-85.

Carlos City Council (three competing for two seats): Ashley Wildman, 192 votes, and Damon Bullock, 119 votes, right. Amanda Dahmes, 70 votes.

Evansville City Council (four running for two seats): Liz Plaster, 167 votes, Jason Andersen, 131 votes, prevailing over Emmitt Meser, 95 votes, and Michael Hudson, 56 votes.

Forada City Council (three competing for two seats): Jeremy Gordhamer, 63 votes, and Gwen Egly, 62 votes defeated. Kayla Reigstad, 52 votes.

Kensington Mayor: Jim Schecker, 90 votes against. Chad Simpson, 63 votes.

Kensington City Council (five running for two seats): Mike Hagen, 90 votes, and Tina Anderson, 71 votes, defeat. Scott Marlow, 48 votes, Randy Petersen, 48 votes and Emmy (Leverson) Maheux, 28 votes.

Mayor of Miltona – Alan Bettermann defeated. Brian Carpenter, 172-62.

Miltona City Council (three running for two seats): Kimberly Thoennes, 178 votes, and Mickey Lint, 113 votes, prevailed over Kim Carpenter, 84 votes.

Miltona Township Supervisor: Brent Boesl, 324 votes, right. Kaylee Wilke, 292 votes.

Nelson City Council (three running for two seats) – In close races, Gay Radtke, 46 votes, and Jeffrey Leroux, 45 votes, edged out LuAnn Gibson, who got 42 votes.

Osakis Mayor – Judy Dvorsak defeated. Daniel Wessel, 512-403. Two of the two districts reporting.

Osakis City Council (three running for two seats): Tim Thornbloom, 507 votes, and Randy Anderson, 499 votes, prevailed over Alan Larson, 403 votes. Two of the two districts reporting.

Osakis Township Supervisor: Eric Jacobson defeated. Daniel Melby, 238-130; Howard Swenstad defeated. Alfonso Wiener, 259-139.

Minnewaska School District 2149 (six running for four seats): Angela Reichmann, 26 votes, Chad Barsness, 24 votes, Justin Zavadil, 20 votes, Dawn Jenson, 17 votes, Kenneth Moe, 15 votes and Gordon Moeller, 9 votes. Thirty districts are in competition. The numbers here are from Douglas County’s three congressional districts.

West Central Area School District 2342 (six competing for four spots): Kayla Sanstead, 295 votes, Jeremiah Ulrich, 205 votes, Michael Bruns, 192 votes, Claire Vincent, 180 votes, Darin Grosz, 169 votes, Jared Olson, 146 votes . There are 28 venues in the contest. The numbers here are from Douglas County’s five congressional districts.

Parkers Prairie School District 547 (five competing for three spots): Dustin Schilling, 262 votes, Sandra Buchholz, 237 votes, Byron Herdman, 206 votes, Shawn Hoemberg, 161 votes and Nancy Euteneuer, 77 votes.

Alexandria City Council District 3: Scott Allen.

Brandon Mayor: Roger Campbell.

Brandon City Council: Jerry Bitzan and Brad Klossner.

Treasurer of the municipality of Carlos: Tamera Schwegel.

Evansville Mayor: Chuck Steffenson.

Evansville Township – Douglas Lee (Seat A).

Mayor of Forada: Bob Verkinderen.

Garfield Mayor: Jason Uhde.

Garfield City Council (two running for two seats): Troy Mills, Wanda Swenson.

Kensington Sanitary District Board: Randy Nessman.

LaGrand Township Supervisor: Greg Niblett (B Seat), Royce Martin (C Seat)

Millerville Mayor: No one applied. Written votes will decide.

Millerville City Council (two seats): Only one has run, Sharon Wagner. Write-in votes will decide the other place.

Nelson Mayor: Sean Gay.

Nelson City Council special election: no one turned up. Written votes will decide.

Osakis School District (three competing for three spots): Michael Collins, Tricia Mages, Amy Schoeck-Weisser.

West Central Area School District Special Election 2342 (two running for two spots): Nathan Porter, Joshua Ulrich.

Brandon-Evansville School District 2908 (four competing for four spots): Troy Fuller Sr., Andrew Mandt, Paul Starke, Rachel Wagner.

Douglas County Soil and Water Supervisor District 2: John Ledermann.
