Scifres, Sahrbeck and Andrews elected to Cape Elizabeth council

Scifres

Cape Elizabeth voters elected Elizabeth Scifres, John Sahrbeck and Andrew Swayze to City Council in a six-way race for three seats.

Scifres received 3,742 votes; Sahrbeck received 3,731 votes; Swayze received 3,181 votes; David Hughes received 2,149 votes; David Andrés received 2,128 votes; and Council President Tim Reiniger, the only incumbent in the race, received 1,961 votes.

Meanwhile, Christopher Boniakowski, Peter Joy Engel and Lee Schroeder were elected to the three open School Board seats without challengers.

Housing and maintaining the town’s rural character were among the challenges the candidates identified for the town in the coming years, in addition to finding a solution for the town’s aging school buildings.
