Stranger Things 5 Episode Titles Promise Mysterious Character’s Disappearance

Strangers Things returns in 2025 for the show’s fifth and final season, and thanks to the ‘Stranger Things Day’ announcement, we now know the titles of the final eight episodes.

November 6th is stranger things Day, as that is the date Will Byers disappeared in 1983, setting in motion the show’s central mystery.

To mark the occasion, Netflix released a trailer featuring the titles of the eight upcoming episodes, promising an escape, a disappearance, and a possible connection to Wrinkle in Time.

Here are the eight titles:

  • 1. Tracking
  • 2. The disappearance of
  • 3. The Spinning Bow Trap
  • 4. sorcerer
  • 5. Shock athlete
  • 6. Escape from Camazotz
  • 7. The bridge
  • 8. Right side up

The teaser then ends with the words: “In the fall of 1987, one last adventure begins..”

So who is it?Fading‘ in episode 2 of Season 5? We’ll likely get a name closer to the air date, based on the title of Season 1 Episode 1, ‘The Disappearance of Will Byers.’

Recent rumors suggest that Holly Wheeler will be the person who disappears, and it is believed that that character will be played by The rise of the evil dead star Nell Fisher in the final season.

The Spinning Bow Trap‘ is probably a reference to ‘Turnbow Land Development and Reality’, a company whose billboard could previously be glimpsed in the Upside Down.

Sorcerer‘ could have something to do with spellcasting in Dungeons and Dragons. Or a reference to William Friedkin’s 1977 film about a group of guys transporting dynamite across South America. But let’s be honest, it’s more likely DnD.

shock jock‘ could represent an electrocuted athlete. But the smart money is on Episode 5, which revolves around radio station WSQK, a Stranger Things set that has been seen in unofficial behind-the-scenes footage.

Escape from Camazotz‘ is perhaps the most intriguing title, as Camazotz is a bat-like creature from Mayan mythology, meaning the title could refer to a new upside-down monster.

Novel A wrinkle in time.

But Camazotz is also a planet in Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved fantasy novel ‘A Wrinkle in Time’, where the giant brain-like creature ‘IT’ resides.

Since Stranger Things is a cultural reference and monsters are important to both stories, don’t be surprised to see ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ referenced in Season 5.

As for ‘Right side up,’ we hope this hints at our heroes saving the world from upside down in the same final episode of Stranger Things.

We’ll write more about these titles when more information becomes available, but until then, you can head here to Stranger Things 5 filming detailsor here for details of the director who came out of retirement for season 5.
