In a statement, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said the weapons were discovered by officers investigating the shooting.

“Detectives have been carrying out extensive searches in the area yesterday and today and located a number of suspicious firearms. They have been seized and will be sent for further testing,” Inspector Ryan said.

Several imitation firearms were also discovered.

On Tuesday, a 34-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident and both remain in police custody.

Police thanked the community for their patience and asked for information.
