How the Jaguars can improve after another close loss

The Jacksonville Jaguar’s 16-point third quarter had fans leaning toward their televisions after trailing by 16 at halftime against the Philadelphia Eagles, thinking a comeback was near. Unable to keep the Eagles off the scoreboard in any quarter, another loss was added to the Jags’ list.

In back-to-back games, the Jaguars lost again in heartbreaking fashion. However, there are some advantages that fans can take advantage of when they don’t strictly look at his history.

The team has only been defeated in two games this season: a 47-10 loss against the Buffalo Bills and a 35-16 loss against the Chicago Bears. The other results, although not cause for joy, have been highly disputed for Doug Pederson and the team.

After trailing 16-0 at halftime, the fact that the Jaguars have to play catch-up is not on their bingo card as they try to come back. Trevor Lawrence tried to get his team back within reach in the third with a 10-play, 61-yard drive.

Travon Walker was able to recover a fumble for a touchdown, bringing them even closer. The momentum was seemingly on their side, down by one point, but head coach Pederson decided to punt on fourth-and-three, rather than go for it late in the game, causing the momentum to come to a screeching halt.

While they left the game as underdogs, the Jaguars have played good football lately, as far as Philadelphia may have slipped away with a win. Some issues should be addressed in the coming weekswhile playing against tough teams.

How the team responds to one heartbreaking loss after another may be demonstrated in its next game against Minnesota. Wins are the only way to regain some confidence for this team. Pederson weighed in with the press about his team’s performances and close losses against opponents.

“Two weeks ago, the Packers were in the NFC championship game a year ago, right? The team we played yesterday was recently in the Super Bowl,” Pederson said. “Frankly, you eliminate some mistakes; we don’t give them 13 points for turnovers.”

Only time will tell based on performance whether the mistakes this team continues to make will be corrected.
