Big change in Test batsman rankings after thrilling Mumbai Test

Pant moves up five places to sixth overall after a couple of half-centuries during the Test, in a sure sign that he is back to his best following a serious car accident, with the left-handed attacker now just one place behind his career. -The best fifth position was occupied for the first time in July 2022.

Mitchell is one place behind Pant, seventh overall, following his rise of eight places and first innings score of 82 against India, joining teammate Kane Williamson (second) as the only New Zealanders inside the 10 first rankings of test batsmen.
