Texarkana man arrested after meeting 13-year-old girl at home and fleeing scene when caught by mother

TEXARKANA, Texas (KWTX) – A Texarkana man was arrested Nov. 4 after a mother found him with her 13-year-old daughter and called police, causing him to flee the scene.

Tyjae Clark, 30, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, online solicitation of a minor and evading arrest.

According to the Texarkana Police Department, the mother discovered sometime Monday morning that her 13-year-old daughter was not home. Upon searching for the mother, she found her daughter in a car parked outside the house with Clark. When confronted, Clark kicked the girl out of the car and fled the scene, prompting the mother to call authorities.

Clark was detained by a Wake Village Police Department officer “a short time later,” but began fleeing on foot. The Wake Village Police Department and the Texarkana Police Department set up a perimeter around the area, and Clark was eventually seen walking along the train tracks before being arrested.

Upon further investigation, Texarkana officers discovered multiple inappropriate messages between Clark and the 13-year-old girl on Clark’s social media accounts. In the messages, the girl informed Clark that she was a minor.

Officers also discovered that Clark is a registered sex offender from a previous incident and was ordered to be on a lifetime registry.

Clark is currently being held at the Bi-State Jail on bonds totaling $400,000.
