STRATHCONA, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A man is dead after an apparent house fire Monday in the town of Strathcona in Roseau County.

According to the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the home around 6:31 p.m. for a fire and smoke damage inside the home. Only one victim was located, his body was transferred to the Forensic Department of the Universidad del Norte for an autopsy. The name has not yet been revealed.

The Sheriff says there is no threat to the public. Both Lifecare Medical Center Ambulance and the Greenbush Fire Department responded to the scene along with the Sheriff’s Office.

The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
