Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump won the general election in the state of North Carolina, the Associated Press projects.

Starting at 11:20 pm on Tuesday, AP will call the presidential race in the state of North Carolina in favor of Trump.

Trump will receive 16 electoral votes from North Carolina. A presidential candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to win the election.
