Lindsay Hardy, Gary Brooks and Kevin Hyatt lead the Avon race Three open City Council seats starting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Unofficial results show Hardy leads with 1,005 votes, followed by Brooks with 912 votes and Hyatt with 802 votes.

Calyn Rieger is in fourth place with 512 votes. So far in Avon, 3,235 votes have been counted with a voter turnout of 65% countywide as of 7 p.m.



Hardy is the only incumbent in the field, and Brooks, Hyatt and Rieger are seeking a first term on the council. Rieger ran for a seat on the Avon City Council in 2022, but was not elected. All those elected will serve four-year terms.

Mayor Amy Phillips was unable to run for reelection due to term limit rules, and Councilman RJ Andrade opted not to seek reelection.

The City Council will then internally elect a mayor and a mayor pro tem from the seven council members when the new council is sworn in. The appointed mayor and the acting mayor will each serve a two-year term.
